Nationally known artist J. Wayne Bystrom excels in the medium of oils as evidenced by a series of successful exhibitions in prominent art galleries located in Philadelphia, New York, Washington, D.C. and Wilmington. He has exhibited in such eminent art institutions as the National Academy of Design, the Philadelphia Art Alliance, the Philadelphia Art Museum Gallery, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the INA Maritime Museum.

He currently lives in Chester County, Pennsylvania and has been a practicing artist since graduating from the Pennslyvania Academy of Fine Arts in 1975.  Art has been his livelihood for 34 years.

"When I start a new painting, there is an excitement beacuse it is a journey which evolves as it moves from beginning to end.  It is a journey that is both exciting and rewarding."

Thoughts on sharing art:

"Sharing art matters because it gives me a wonderful feeling when I see my work displayed in corporations, hotels, hospitals, etc.  When people select my work to go in their homes or offices, it means that they appreciate my painting and want it to be part of their lives.  Often I receive letters from owners of my work telling me what my art means to them, so it is very gratifying to share my art."
